CC Exercise Contest

So as not to confuse you, read the 5 W's as a poem  Very Happy
WHO?
Young and old, adventurous and bold, it is everyone we call, we
summon you ALL!
WHAT?
An EXERCISE CONTEST,  held by the illustrious CC.
We guarantee that you shall leave as fit as can be!
WHEN?
Starting from June first, which in fact is today,
Till the close of this month when June the 31st makes its way.
WHERE?
Where the fun, and the friends, and the unforgettable is all at...
Why on the CC of course, have no doubt about that!
 
And..WHY?
-Physical inactivity as a risk factor is known.
To heart attacks and strokes one can become quite prone.
-Aerobic activity brings in HDL an increase,
This “good” cholesterol protects you from heart disease.
-“Physical training is of some value”
Paul says in 1 Timothy four verse eight.
Although training in godliness is much better,
Physical training has a value of much weight.
-Honor God with our bodies, in the Word it does say.
Exercising, fitness, and self discipline is a way!
-Why would you turn down an opportunity such as this?
This contest is rare and should not be missed!
 

HOW?
1. Post your goals in the
Exercise Goals thread (optional).
You may post goals at any time between now and the end of the contest, and you may modify them at any time.
 
 

  • Why goals?
    (1) You will personally benefit from goal-setting if you take it
    seriously and (2) you will be better rewarded with prizes.


  • What kind of goals? This is completely up to you, but they must be
    specific. For example, "Exercise for 30 min/day 3x/week during
    July" is acceptable; "exercise more" is not. I also
    recommend that your goals be attainable. For example, "Run a
    10K this month" is a good goal for regular runners but terrible
    for those who don't normally run.


  • To qualify for the 2 seashell option, post an assessment of how you're doing with
    respect to your goal each week at any time during the week. If you
    assessed your goals one week and didn't assess your goals the next
    week, you would receive the higher money option for the week you
    assessed and the lower money option for the week you didn't assess
    your goals.


  • To qualify for the 2 seashell option, you do
    not need to achieve your goal; you only need to assess how
    you're doing. The important thing is that you're working towards an
    attainable goal. If you find that your original goal is too hard or
    too easy, please modify it. Believe it or not, these goals are for
    you!



2. Post in the Exercise Log thread to tell us:
What exercise you did and how long you exercised for (rounded to the nearest 5 minutes)
 
To receive credit for your exercises and goal assessments, you must post them during that week. (So when we get to June 31, you can't post a June 1 report and receive money for that.) Reports are due at the end of each week on Saturdays (with the exception of the last week since June ends on a Sunday):
 

  • June 1-8
    (Reports accepted through Sat, June 8 @ 11:59 PM EDT)


  • July 9-15
    (Reports accepted through Sat, June 15 @ 11:59 PM EDT)


  • July 16-22 (Reports accepted
    through Sat, June 22 @ 11:59 PM EDT)


  • July 23-31
    (Reports accepted through Sat, June 31 @ 11:59 PM EDT)



What Prizes Can I Earn?
5 minutes exercising = 2 seashells, if you have made a goal and you report your exercises with an assessment of how you're doing with respect to your goal that week.
5 minute exercising = 1 seashell if you have not made a goal or you report your exercises without an
assessment of how you're doing with respect to your goal that week.

Just about any sporting activity. Here's a list to get you started. An activity needn't be listed here to count if it is obviously exercise, but please ask  for clarification if you're not sure.

Okay, so, the rules say we have to assess our goals to receive double seashells. What does that mean, specifically? We just say how we think we're doing once a week in the log thread, or do we post it somewhere else, or what?

Ok, Sko, so after reading through the whole thing, I think this is the answer to your question. In order for you to qualify for the two seashell option its not just enough for you to post how much you exercised but you must also post an "assessment" of how well you completed your goal. << This can also be done in the exercise log, there is no need to make a new topic.

I believe this is the answer but I am not entirely sure. Please correct me if I am wrong! Embarassed
