So, You Think You Can Sing?

Post by Bren on 26th January 2013, 1:15 am

Do you fancy yourself a singer? What part do you sing? I can sing high parts so I'd say tenor. I find it funny that tenor in a choir and tenor in a quartet are vastly different. Like David Phelps. If he was in a choir it'd be different.

well, me personally, I'd say yes. I'm in a choir, and people do say I'm good. I am a soprano. (What? Who said that?) Laughing

He sings with the Gaither Vocal Band. They sing Gospel music. They're in the old category, but I still like em. Very Happy

I sing a little bit. I don't know how good I am though... I sing some tenor, but lately I've been singing more bass (1) than anything else.

I randomly burst out singing a lot.. Even if I'm at a store. I'm not loud when I sing at stores. I just sing to myself or hum. But I always have music in my head so I'm singing or humming a lot of the time. Don't really know if I'm good or not, but I guess I'm okay since my sibs don't tell me anything and they usually join. I don't sing in front of a crowd though. I don' think I'm good enough for that.

Yeah, that's kind of the same with me. I'm comfortable singing to myself when I'm at home. My siblings don't seem to think I sound horrible, and lots of times the girls will join in singing. I think I sing soprano. But I'm not very musically inclined. Normally, I can tell when I'm singing off key, but I don't have a strong voice, so when I'm singing with other people, I can't always hear myself to know whether I'm singing right. And for that reason, I feel rather self-conscious singing around/with others.

And just to add to it, I like the Gaither Vocal Band as well. Wink The style of music isn't my favorite, but I've grown up listening to them. They're a part of my childhood. Wink

I consider myself a solid singer. I wish I could be good, so I occasionally practice. I'd say I'm a tenor, but I'm not quite sure.

I can sing both alto and soprano, but I prefer soprano. I have always wanted to sing in the opera but we shall see if that ever happens Laughing
(I also breakout in song all the time... O.o) Do any of you sing solo?

Re: So, You Think You Can Sing?

I have a fairly good voice when it comes to singing. However, my voice is weird and sometimes wants to be high, and then all the sudden, it won't be able to, so it will switch to a lower key. It is like I can only sing in two octaves, and if I get too high or low, it moves to the ofther octave and keeps going.

It gets weird and annoying.

Have you noticed that I post in all the music stuff? O.o

I LOVE to sing! When my four older sisters and I are in the car we randomly break out into singing. My voice is a little lower than most, so I generally sing Alto. Being in 3 choirs has taught me to do alto naturally (as in..I don't need notes to sing it.)
I don't know what my life would be without music! Shocked
